4D Scan - NOT!!!

Well, our luck finally ran out. We went for our official 4D scan today, and young Ethan decided to hide.

Initially he was facing the right way and all looked good. Then when Dr Hartmann wanted to start the 4D, he had turned to face Claudia's back, so no luck.

All we got was a hand in front of a profile... Maybe next time.

I suppose we have been lucky to get the 4d faces we have seen till now.

Also, he has not grown as much as before, so is no longer on the average graph, but slightly smaller... Nothing to be concerned about, but he is unlikely to be as big as Riley was at birth, unless he decides to play catch up.

Cat Stool

This morning Riley decided to rearrange the furniture after getting dressed. The cat toys always seem to get all the attention. Also note the pose. She sits really well, occasionally needs to be reminded though.

Hugs

The picture says it all...

Riley's first newspaper appearance

As part of the last day function at Riley's school, the kids went to the Duck and Deck animal farm in Shongweni. Being close to Easter, there was a photographer looking for subjects for the "easter pic" for her newspaper. They asked if the kids would pose... and this is the result - front page stuff...

Easter 2009

This year is Riley's 3rd Easter, but I think the first that she really understands. She had a great day on Sunday, starting with an Easter egg hunt at home, followed by a day with the Parnell's at their house then at Colisheen Estate.

Riley and the girls had great fun, especially since there was a permanent Easter egg hunt... The Easter bunny kept hiding more and more eggs.
Riley and Crystin had great fun on the jumping castle. Crysting seemed to enjoy helping Riley climb up the rope ladder etc.
The trampoline and jungle gym were also a great hit.
It was also great not having to hassle about cooking and all that stuff...

Riley and her cousin Noah, and the dog Blue

We spent the day with Claudia's family on Sunday and had a great day.

Riley and Noah get on really well, even though this clip shows them wrestling, they play nicely all the time.

Riley also loves Blue, the dog, who is very patient.

Scan at 24 weeks

We went for our 24 week scan on Friday afternoon, and were again lucky enough to get a 4D image. All is fine and the baby is growing at the expected rate.

Mom came along to the scan, which I think she enjoyed.

The videos above are from Riley's school outing to the animal farm. As I mentioned before, she had a great day and interacted with the animals very well.

It was also great to see how she behaves with the other children and her teacher.

Eleanor is the teacher. She is quite strict but very caring and Riley misses her and talks about her at home quite often.

Then there is Riley feeding the sheep. She can be very nervous around animals and bugs - she will not touch any type of bug, so it was nice to see her actually touching and feeding the animals.

The last is the Pony ride. Note the "bounce".

Yesterday was the last day of Riley's first term at "Little Me". We had a little school outing to an animal farm near Shongweni, which was a huge amount of fun for everyone.

Riley and her friends had a great time with all the animal etc. It was also very nice to see how Riley interacts with her friends, especially since she had such a tough time settling in the first time around.

We found a jungle gym, always a favourite with Riley and I was amazed at how quickly she learns.

In the clip you can see her trying to climb and slipping down all the time. At the cut I showed her the steps and showed her what to do.

Then she gets the idea (you can see her looking for the steps), and off she goes.

I think this is my favourite clip, especially if you watch the facial expression etc.
