Second Term Done and Dusted

Well, the second term has come and gone. Riley has settled in to school really well and is very happy. She has made friends with all the kids - there are only 4 others.

Sadly Thursday was also Riley's "best friends" last day. His family are emigrating to Australia. These pictures shows the affection that they have for each other. Ethan is almost a year older that Riley, he turned 3 in March, but she talks about him often and they seem to play together the most.

The two pics above show the group (Sarah is off sick though). Zodwa helps to look after the kids as well and calls Riley "her little princess"

Last Scan before E-Day.

Today we had what should be the last scan before Ethan makes his appearance. Dr Hartmann is very happy with the progress, so he is not expecting us to revert to weekly visits before the scheduled arrival on 09 July 2009 (09-07-09).

All being well we will be 2nd on the slate, so Ethan should make his appearance before 09h30.

As you will see, we are at 36 weeks. Dr Hartmann will not deliver by planned Caesar before 38 weeks, which we agree with, hence the selection of 09 July.

As you can see from the above. Ethan has not gained as much weight as for the last scan. He has dropped back onto the normal scale, so the prediction is that he will be born at between 3.4 and 3.6 kg. Slightly less than Riley at 3.7kg.

Dr Hartmann also pointed out that we are perfectly safe expecting a boy...

Riley Singing

Riley has been singing pretty well since she started school at the beginning of the year. She however does not enjoy acting for the camera so it is difficult to get anything on video.

Last night during dinner she started singing well and audibly to I tried to get some action. As soon as she noticed the camera though she started being coy.

This is the footage I did manage to get.

32 Week Scan

Our 32 week scan went well on Friday. Baby Ethan has caught up a bit of weight. At the last scan he was a bit small (Claudia had been ill) but now seems to have caught up. He has actually moved to the "above average" scale.

We were also lucky this time. We managed to get some nice 4D images. As you will be able to see they are a face with the arm in the foreground, a hand in a fist and a face with the nose being blocked as if something smells.
It is amazing that there are only 6 or so weeks to go... Time flies.
At the next scan in 4 weeks we will have a better idea of size and when we can schedule the ceasar etc.
