Good Friday - Festival of Chariots

Friday was "Good Friday", which is a Reatil holiday - which are few are far between.

It was really nice to be at home with no work pressure etc.

We took the kids and grandmothers down to the beach which was as usuall fun - very windy but great anyway.

Ethan got his first real taste of the sea - he got dumped, but was quite happy after.

Then we got "stuck" in the Festival of Chariots so got to watch.

Ethan falls asleep at dinner

Recently Ethan has started playing up when he should go down for his nap (usually just after school).

On Thursday he was so tired by dinner that we just could not make it through dinner. He did not eat anything at all and bathing only sligtly revived him.

Afternoon Nap

Ethan Still has his afternoon nap... On Saturday he made himself really confortable (Not). Check out the right hand!

He also still loves to haold his "baba" which is is taggy. Both the dummy and "baba" get given up as soon as he wakes - sometimes with a bit of protest, but usually pretty easily.

Speed King and Queen

This past week-end was a long week-end for us, so we decided to take the kids down to the main Durban beaches to ride bikes etc.

Not withstanding the crowds, they had fun.

Riley spent quite a bit of time playing in the water and sand, and then she was fascinated by the Skate Park.

After the ideas from the skate park Ethand and her decided to try a bit of there own x-treme sport...



The qulaity is not great as it was filmed using a cell phone. 

Grannie's Birthday

Today is Grannie's birthday, so we invited Mom and Michael for dinner.

The kids were very excited - they kept wishing Grannie "happy birthday"

Riley decided that a candle was required, so since we did not have any desert/cake (it is a school night), Riley suggested that a candle in the chicken would be a good idea.

Clearly the chicken was not a good idea so we used a roast potatoe...

We sang Happy Birthday and Riley "helped" blow out the candle then had a nice dinner.

Dinner Ready?

On Friday night we decided to have dinner outside, The kids felt like KFC and being a nice evening we thought that outside would be fun.

Ethan as usual was very keen - he sat quietly waiting for the food to be delivered... While Riley and Nona checked on the fish.

The excitement when the food arrives says it all.




After dinner (if it gets eaten) they get to have some liquorice. They are allowed 4 mini pieces each.

Early Morning TV

This morning Riley and Ethan set themselves up to watch TV.

The "copy cat" phase has definately arrived...

And Gaston looks comfy too.

Chocolate Mousse

It has been a LONG time since my lat post - time just seems to get away from me...

On Saturday Claudia bought the kids some chocolate mousse, and even though Ethan was not well, they both managed to scoff the desert down without much trouble.

The video just shows how they have changed over the last few months - and also how much they LOVE chocolate!
